Auto Express reader Ian Bryant has taken delivery of a brand new Nissan Leaf after winning our competition

Auto Express reader Ian Bryant will be spending the next twelve months behind the wheel of a brand new Nissan Leaf after winning our competition.

Ian, from Wraysbury in Berkshire, took delivery of the Leaf from Auto Express editor-in-chief Steve Fowler at West Way Nissan in Hanwell, Middlesex.

The Leaf will be replacing a BMW 120d that Ian currently uses for his daily commute to his role as a deputy IT director for the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Being a bit of a car fan, Ian also has an old Vauxhall Omega and a Vauxhall Zafira in the family.

Ian had already taken a test drive of the Leaf before collecting his car and couldn’t hide his excitement at taking his fully-specced Tekna model away to keep for twelve months.

“I was really surprised when I took the test drive,” Ian told us. “I was expecting it to be a very different driving experience to what I’m used to, but in many ways it’s better. I love the performance and the space and especially how quiet the car is.”

Ian has two daughters aged 14 and 16 and he said that they were looking forward to getting into the Leaf, too. “It’s got an element of cool to it so they’ll want to be driven around in it lots,” he said.

In his spare time, Ian is a youth group leader and reckoned the kids at the youth group will also be impressed. And as a gadget fan, he was looking forward to getting to play with the Leaf’s tech.

“I’m really looking forward to using the toys like the ProPILOT autonomous driving features and the ePedal system that brakes the car as it recharges the battery.”

We’ll be adding a Nissan Leaf to the Auto Express fleet very soon and will be catching up with Ian to see how he’s getting on with his car.
