Toyota has launched an updated version of the C-HR compact SUV, with mildly reworked styling, a fresh infotainment system, a new mild-hybrid powertrain and a range of chassis improvements. Prices start from £25,625 for the entry-level Icon trim-level, with first deliveries due by the end of the year.
Styling revisions include reshaped LED headlights, a new front grille and a smoothed-over front bumper with new air intakes and fog lamps. There’s also a reworked rear diffuser with additional chrome details and a revised pair of LED tail lights, which are fared into a new gloss black lip spoiler.

Inside, there’s a new infotainment system which offers support for over-the-air updates, European mapping and the latest versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other than the technology upgrade, little else has changed in the cabin.
Engine options include the existing 1.8-litre hybrid unit but Toyota has removed the C-HR’s 113bhp turbocharged 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine from the UK market, due to lack of customer demand. In its place Toyota is offering customers a new 183bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid powertrain, with Toyota claiming CO2 emissions of 118g/km.
Models equipped with the more potent 2.0-litre mild-hybrid powertrain benefit from a range of chassis improvements, including a modified electric power steering system and a new suspension design which Toyota says has improved the C-HR’s ride comfort. All models also come with additional sound deadening, to reduce cabin noise.
Like the outgoing C-HR, five trim-levels will be available. Buyers will be offered the same Icon, Design, Excel and Dynamic equipment levels, while a range-topping, special issue “Orange Edition” will sit at the top of the C-HR’s line-up.
