Volkswagen has confirmed that it will reveal a seventh ID. badged all-electric concept car at this year’s Los Angeles Motor Show, previewing a new electric car destined to go on sale in North America, China and Europe late in 2021.
Called ID. Space Vizzion, in-depth sketches released by Volkswagen confirm that the new vehicle will be in essence a more practical version of the already revealed ID. Vizzion, and looks due to be one of the very first all-electric estate cars on the market.

It’ll also serve as a glimpse of what to expect from the ID. Vizzion saloon, given that the sketches indicate that this is an ID. concept vehicle far closer to production reality than 2018’s Geneva Motor Show concept.
VW describes the concept as an estate combining the aerodynamic profile of a grand tourer with the interior spaciousness of an SUV. Like the rest of the ID. line-up, it’s based on the brand’s all-new MEB electric platform, while VW claims that the all-electric drivetrain will be capable of 367 miles on a single charge.
The teaser images also preview the interior, and VW promises that the concept will “define a completely new paradigm of intuitive ability” by way of a totally digitalised cockpit. A teaser sketch reveals a four seat cabin with a pared back dashboard, home to a giant central display and with a small digital instrument panel sitting behind the steering wheel.
Every material found inside is from a sustainable source, while the ID. Space Vizzion introduces AppleSkin - a new artificial leather using residual matter left over from apple juice production.
The decision to bring the car to the European market lies in contrast to the firm’s last ID. concept car. The ID. Roomzz, revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show back in April, is a large SUV built with the North American and Chinese markets in mind. The ID. Space Vizzion will be revealed on 19 November.
