McLaren has added another car to its junior ride-on model range. The company’s latest 12V toy is a scaled down version of the McLaren GT, which is priced between £163 and £234 depending on the selected options.
The toy takes plenty of inspiration from the real supercar, sharing its dihedral doors and a choice of six colour options, all of which were cherry picked from the real car’s catalogue. The finishes include Burnished Copper, Silica White, Onyx Black, McLaren Orange, Amaranth Red and Burton Blue. The toy’s wheels even match the design of the real car’s
Other features include working switchgear for the dashboard, a bucket seat with a seat belt, a functional boot, working brake lights and fake engine noises which play when the child presses the accelerator.
Parents can even spec the McLaren GT ride-on with an infotainment screen on the dashboard, which can play music from either a USB device or an SD card. However, the accessory is an optional extra.
Hayley Robinson, of McLaren’s merchandising department, said: “At McLaren Automotive, we aim to inspire the future generation of supercar enthusiasts.
“The new GT Ride-On allows even the smallest of fans to discover the magic of our pioneering supercars. We’re proud to develop and encourage younger minds and seek to create the next generation of drivers, engineers, and automotive designers.”
