The Jaguar XF range has been updated with more efficient diesel engines, more technology and a new Chequered Flag special edition. On sale now, prices start at £34,950 for the saloon and £37,390 for the Sportbrake.
The 161bhp and 176bhp versions of Jaguar’s 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine are now around 25 per cent more fuel efficient, according to the brand. As a result, CO2 emissions have been fallen from 134g/km to 126g/km for the more powerful diesel.

Other revisions to the XF include a new Smartphone pack which offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The technology pack is standard on all XF models and is controlled via the car’s 10-inch infotainment system.
Jaguar has also announced a XF Chequered Flag special edition, which adds a handful of exterior and interior updates to the saloon and Sportbrake. Exterior upgrades include a sport front bumper, unique Chequered Flag badging, 18-inch alloy wheels, a boot spoiler, body-coloured side-skirts, black trim and a choice of three paint colours.
Inside, the XF Chequered Flag edition gets an aluminium fascia panel, unique badging on its treadplates, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an R-Sport leather interior available in either Ebony or Ebony/Pimento colour combinations. As an optional extra, buyers can also spec a 17-speaker audio system.
Technology-wise, Jaguar’s latest special edition XF gets sat-nav with live traffic updates, keyless entry, a head-up display and Jaguar’s Share ETA system, which provides the driver with information on car parking availability and fuel pricing. Safety equipment is the same as the standard XF, and includes emergency braking assist, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
Four engine-choices are available for the XF Chequered Flag, including a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol, with an output of either 247bhp or 296bhp, and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel, with either 176bhp or 237bhp. Both petrol engines and the lesser-powered diesel engine can be specced with either rear- or all-wheel-drive, whilst the most powerful diesel is only available with all-wheel-drive.
