David Brown Automotive has teased a highly tuned, limited edition version of the Mini Remastered, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the original Sir Alec Issigonis designed BMC Mini.
The special edition model will be unveiled at next month’s Goodwood Revival, before going on sale in a limited production run of 60 units.
Specifications remain partially under wraps, but David Brown Automotive has confirmed that it’ll be powered by an A-Series engine, rebuilt and tuned by the classic car performance specialist Oselli. The standard version of the Mini Remastered has a refurbished and rebored 1,330cc inline-four, delivering 94bhp and 118Nm of torque.
We expect this performance-focussed, “highly-tuned” version to feature beefier brakes, better suspension and a reconditioned gearbox. The car’s additional sound deadening will also likely be removed in this tuned variant, in the interest of weight reduction.
The teased car shares the same deseamed body shell as the standard Mini Remastered. Buyers will be given their choice of a range of exclusive colour combinations, while David Brown Automotive will also offer matching racing suits and helmets as optional extras for the limited edition car.
David Brown, the company’s founder and CEO, said: “We are excited to announce this new partnership with Oselli. We are experts in car design and engineering, while Oselli add to our combined knowledge as long-term specialists in honing race car performance.”
