This is the Mazda 2 Sport Black. A new limited edition version of the supermini that also brings some minor tweaks to the rest of the Mazda 2 line-up.
Only 500 examples of the Black edition will be produced, all featuring black detailing on the wing mirrors, rear roof spoiler, skirt trims, grill and shark fin antenna as well as privacy glass and 16-inch alloy wheels.
It’s only available with Mazda’s 88bhp 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine.
The rest of the Mazda 2 line-up now consists of five trim levels (SE+, SE-L+, SE-L Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+) while the range now kicks off from £13,292 and rises to £17,095.
The simplified range includes only one engine, Mazda’s 1.5 litre SKYACTIV-G, which is offered in three states of tune: 73, 88 and 113bhp. Entry-level SE+ models now some with 15-inch alloy wheels, heated power fold mirrors, 60:40 split rear seats and electric rear windows as standard, while the GT Sport Nav+ comes with dusk-sensing lights, rear parking sensors, rain sensing front wipers, climate control air conditioning and a rear-view camera.
Only the GT Sport Nav+ is available with a six-speed manual gearbox when paired with the 113bhp engine while all other models have a five-speed manual gearbox. Any 88bhp variant can be paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control technology remains along with improvements to the suspension and steering, while revised front and rear damper settings improve ride quality. Smart City Brake Support and Lane Departure Warning System are standard on each model, as well as is tweaked electric steering.
