Lotus has revealed its most powerful road-going production car ever in the form of the new Evora GT430 – a limited production Evora boasting more power, more downforce and less weight.
Just 60 examples will be built for markets worldwide and in the UK, Lotus has priced the Evora GT430 at £112,500, making it ever so slightly more expensive than the list price of the recently refreshed, 493bhp Porsche 911 GT3.
Sat behind the driver is the same 3.5-litre supercharged V6 as before, but power has been pushed up to 430bhp. The power hike is matched with new aerodynamic bodywork, enabling up to 250kg of downforce.
New carbon-fibre bodypanels have been sculpted to create the aggressive, racier look. At the front, the apron features larger air apertures, while there’s also a new carbon-fibre splitter. A pair of louvres make an appearance too, one sat on top of both front wheel arches.
Moving backwards, Lotus has placed new aerodynamic ducts behind each wheel to reduce air pressure in the rear wheel arches, while there’s also a new rear diffuser and large rear wing. Wheels 19-inch in size at the front and 20-inch at the rear are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber.
Weight has been cut by 26kg compared to the Evora Sport 410, meaning that this is the lightest Evora yet, tipping the scales at 1,258kg dry.
As a result of the GT430 package, this Evora can do 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 190mph.
