Renault's EZ-GO concept, which is set to focus on shared urban mobility, has been teased ahead of its Geneva Motor Show debut

Renault is all set to launch its vision of the future at the Geneva Motor Show next week. In a short video, the French maker has teased its EZ-GO concept, which is said to focus on ‘shared urban mobility’.

The video is a mere 12 seconds long, and the accompanying text reveals very little about Renault’s latest project. However, our brief look at the new vehicle suggests it will provide space for multiple passengers, with an unconventional seating layout. From the video, we can see at least two people sitting side on, with another sat at the rear facing forward.

As the picture fades, a line of text appears, saying: “Meet Renault EZ-GO, a vision of shared urban mobility.” It then goes on to detail the date and time of the vehicle’s reveal, which is set to take place at the Geneva show on 6 March at 09:00 (08:00 GMT).

Interestingly, the film doesn’t show anyone driving, hinting the EZ-GO will showcase Renault’s forthcoming autonomous technology. Given its futuristic stance, electrification is likely to feature, too.

Very little else is known about the concept at this stage, but “shared urban mobility” would suggest Renault is looking towards a future of ride hailing or car sharing solutions. The vehicle seen in the teaser video looks far bigger than anything in the brand’s current model range, and could even take the shape of a bus or small van, rather than a car.

We’ll have more information direct from the show floor, next week.
