Hot on the heels of the reveal of the all-new Bentley Continental GT, its longer four-door brother – the next-generation Flying Spur – has been spied by our photographers.
These first shots show the car wearing plenty of masking to disguise the updated styling, but the overall shape of the front end strongly hints that it’ll adopt the new, wider grille seen on the Continental GT, while fresh headlights also modelled on those seen on the all-new coupe should appear too.
Around the back, the taillights are hidden underneath stickers mimicking the shape of the units found on the current model, but we expect these to morph into the single oval units on the new Conti.

Under the skin, the wheelbase will be extended to accommodate four doors thanks to the usage of a modified version of the MSB platform underpinning the Continental GT. The fresh architecture supports 48v electrification, so expect fresh tech from the coupe to carry directly over, such as the active anti-roll bars powering the Bentley Dynamic Ride suspension system.
Under the bonnet will sit a revised version of the firm’s trademark 6.0-litre W12 engine, producing 626bhp and 900Nm of torque. The cabin should receive all of the Continental GT’s fresh trinkets, such as the new 12.3-inch infotainment system headlining the rotating, three-sided panel in the dashboard.
With the new Continental GT now on sale with first deliveries targeted for early 2018, we anticipate the covers to come off the new Flying Spur later next year.
