Lamborghini will unveil the ‘future of super sportscars’ at this year’s EmTech conference conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which kicks off on Monday 6 November.

The Italian marque posted a teaser image of the front-end of the mystery concept on its Instagram account, revealing a new type of LED design on the nose of the hidden car. The rest of the car is deliberately blocked out by the garage door.

The front end seems to resemble the Huracan, albeit with the unusual new LED cluster that sits beneath both front headlamps. The MIT collaboration might be a one-off, but it could represent the direction Lamborghini are aiming for in the future.

Recently, Lamborghini posted a number of videos as part of a series titled ‘Since We Made It Possible’, accompanying its release of the Urus SUV. The last video in the series showcases the Italian manufacturer’s commitment to sustainability, with state-of-the-art highly efficient production facilities and an array of solar panels supplying the CO2 neutral Sant’Agata plant with 2,100 MWh per year.

This video strongly hints that Lamborghini is in the process of making sustainable cars in the future, be it hybrid-electric or fully EV. Its partnership with MIT’s EmTech (short for ‘emerging technologies’) conference further points towards a sustainable electric future for Lamborghini models.

EmTech has been held every year by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 1999, with this year’s conference taking place on 6-9 November. The conference showcases future trends and technologies to an audience made up primarily of innovators and entrepreneurs.
