Toyota has teased an extreme concept off-roader called the FT-AC, which the Japanese marque will fully unveil at this year's LA Motor Show.
FT-AC stands for ‘Future Toyota Adventure Concept’, with the name strongly hinting towards a rugged off-road SUV or pick-up truck. Auto Express understands that the FT-AC will be tailored for the North American audience, and there are currently no plans to showcase it in Europe.
From the darkened teaser image, the most notable features are the clusters of LED lights below the headlamps and on top of the windscreen. The wheelarches are quite large and seem to jut out from the side of the concept, too. Both of these characteristics point towards an all-conquering 4x4 that could potentially rival the Mercedes G-Class.
Details of the concept's technical spec are scarce, but Toyota will formally unveil the car in a live online stream on 30 November during the LA Motor Show’s second press day. On 1 December, the event opens to the public at the Los Angeles Convention Center and runs until 10 December.
The FT-AC will be displayed alongside Toyota’s luxury offshoot Lexus, who will be launching a seven-seat variant of its RX flagship SUV called the RX L at the LA show.
