An all-new Porsche 911 is due in 2019, and a flagship 911 Turbo looks set to follow closely in the footsteps of the next-generation base model; our spy photographers have spotted it for the first time.
Comparing these pictures to those taken on numerous sightings of the regular 911 coupe make it plain to see that this is Porsche’s next turbocharged range-topper. It sits wider with extended wheel arches, while the biggest giveaways are the Turbo’s trademark air vents sat just ahead of each rear wheel.

Elsewhere, fresh 911 design cues can be made out, such as the distinctly flat and horizontal front grille arrangement on the front bumper, new headlights, and a full-length LED light strip around the back joining the taillights together – a styling element making its way onto all new Porsches. A camera can be seen sat within the front grille too, hinting at fresh driver assistance technology.
Again, these spy shots suggest Porsche will play things conservatively with the next-generation 911, with a design that is a minor evolution of the car currently on sale.
Changes in the cabin should be a bit more substantial though. We’ve previously spied a digital instrument setup in other next-generation 911 spy shots, plucked from the latest Panamera. Similarly, an infotainment overhaul with tech borrowed from that car is likely, meaning the next-generation 911 could come with a significantly redesigned interior and dashboard.
At the moment it’s too early to say what Porsche has in mind on the powertrain side of things, though the turbocharged flat-six in the back will up the bar from the 533bhp produced by the current generation 3.8-litre model. Depending on just how much power Porsche packs into the next-gen car, the Turbo S model could climb beyond the 600bhp mark – a feat almost achieved by the recently revealed 599bhp Turbo S Exclusive Series.
