Buyers of the Vauxhall Grandland X SUV and Astra family hatch now have the option to spec their cars with an abundance of extra kit thanks to the introduction of the new top-of-the-range ‘Ultimate’ trim level.
Grandland X Ultimate models are offered with a new 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new unit delivers 174bhp and 400Nm of torque and can return a claimed 57.6mpg on the combined cycle.

In terms of extra equipment, the Ultimate model’s interior features heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, wireless mobile phone charging and a Denon premium sound system. While there is also a 360-degree panoramic camera, premium LED adaptive forward lighting and adaptive cruise control with pedestrian detection to help assist drivers. Buyers can pick up the new ‘Ultimate’ Grandland X from £34,040.
The Astra Ultimate, meanwhile, is available with both the 148bhp 1.4-litre and 197bhp 1.6-litre turbo petrol engines as well as the 1.6-litre 158bhp diesel. As standard, it gets 18” bi-colour alloys, LED matrix lights and the Driver Assistance Pack – this adds forward collision alert, traffic sign recognition, following distance indicator and lane departure warning with lane assist.
As well as the Driving Assistance Pack, the ‘Ultimate’ trim Astra includes the Parking Pack, which comes with advanced park assist, rear view camera and side blind spot alert. The ‘Ultimate’ Astra is available in all 11 colours that Vauxhall offer for an on road price of £24,935.
