British car maker Lister Motor Company has confirmed plans to build the world’s fastest SUV. Called the LFP, the SUV will be based on the Jaguar F-Pace and should be capable of 200mph.
Expected to be powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8, the LFP will develop 670bhp and cover 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds. The Lamborghini Urus is currently the fastest accelerating SUV on the market covering 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds.
Following the success of the Lister Thunder, the company’s fastest-selling model to date, Lister says that initial interest in the LFP is strong and orders for the model are being taken now.
Full technical details on the LFP are still closely guarded, but Lister has said prices will start at around £140,000. First customer deliveries are set to commence in October.
The 65-year old motor tuning specialist is currently the fastest-growing player in the UK motor industry according to the leading independent financial analysts, Plimsoll. The company is moving to a new dedicated head office in Lancashire due to its growth.
Lawrence Whittaker, Lister CEO said: “The imminent release of our new monster killer LFP promises to see Lister’s healthy situation continue for the remainder of this year, and beyond.”
