Lotus has refined its Evora range for the 2018 model year with the introduction of the Evora GT410 Sport, a lightened version of the current Evora Sport 410 that goes on sale with a price of £85,900.
Power comes from a 3.5-litre supercharged Toyota-derived V6 producing 410bhp and 420Nm of torque. It’s available in a choice of manual or semi-automatic transmissions, both with six speeds. 0-60mph takes 3.9 seconds in semi-auto form (four seconds for the manual), however top speed with the auto ‘box equipped is 171mph, 19mph slower than the manual’s 190mph maximum velocity.
The Evora GT410 Sport will be a series production model, but with styling cues from the limited run Evora GT430 track day special. The GT410 has adopted a similar diet to the track-day GT430, weighing 1,297kg in standard trim. Equipping the optional titanium exhaust system and adjustable dampers reduces the weight to a total of 1,256kg, 98kg lighter than the standard Evora and 28kg lighter than the Evora Sport 410.
At high speeds, the Evora GT410 Sport develops 96kg of downforce, a 50 per cent increase over the Evora Sport 410 according to Lotus. The lightweight chassis gives the GT410 Sport a power-to-weight ratio of 326bhp/tonne.
Even the most well-trained eyes will struggle to tell the GT410 Sport apart from the limited-run GT430. The front end is almost identical with very similar nose design and front bonnet louvres. Around the back, the GT410 Sport loses the GT430’s big rear wing but incorporates the same ribbed engine cover, exhaust and rear bumper shape.
In tune with Lotus’ “simplify, then add lightness” philosophy, luxuries come at a premium over the £85,900 base price of the Evora GT410 Sport. The six-speed semi-automatic transmission is £2,000 extra with the race suspension package and titanium exhaust costing £5,500 apiece.
Air conditioning is a £1,500 option as is the £2,000 infotainment system, which comprises of a seven-inch touchscreen, sat nav, reversing camera and smartphone compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
